OUTSIDE

This is, in part, why Firexo has developed an eco-friendly and biodegradable solution for extinguishing the fire.

If the fire is extinguished outside, you can be confident in letting any overspray or dried residue get absorbed into the soil or let rain water wash it away over time. The Firexo portable extinguisher solution’s main active ingredients are ammonium sulfate, water, and nitrogen which actually act as a fertilizer to aid in plant growth.

INSIDE

If Firexo is used to extinguish an inside fire, it is recommended that the affected areas be wiped down with warm soapy water, and any areas that are exposed to food preparation or eating should be additionally cleaned afterwards in a standard hygienically-safe way.

If the Firexo sachet is used, the excess product can be dumped in the trash can and then the pan be cleaned with warm soapy water, or go through a standard dishwasher cycle.

BURNED

Any burned area or items that have been exposed to not only overspray of the Firexo, but also the fire will need to be taken into special consideration.

Contact your local Fire Department for advice on how to safely proceed.

HEALTH RISKS

Although Firexo’s solution is non-toxic and able to degrade in the environment, it could still have adverse affects on the body. The following first aid measures should be taken during exposure:

INHALATION

Move affected person to fresh air. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

VESSEL DISPOSAL

In addition to the Firexo fluid inside the vessel being eco-friendly, Firexo strives to provide resources and instruction in the proper disposal of the used vessel itself.

The Firexo Small Extinguisher is not rechargeable, which means once it has been used, damaged, or gone expired, it must be disposed of properly. To dispose of a used-depressurized vessel, follow your local recycling program rules. To dispose of a damaged or expired vessel that still has charged pressure, reach out to your local Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program or local Fire Department. A pressurized container such as a fire extinguisher is considered an explosive due to the danger the compressed vessel may cause to the surroundings. It is imperative that this type of item is handled and disposed of properly.

The Firexo 0.5g, 1.5g, and 2.5g extinguishers are all re-chargeable vessels which provides the opportunity for them to be professionally tested in order to have a longer use or multiple uses if already used. Firexo would not advise in any circumstances for an untrained professional to attempt to service their own fire extinguishers. There are many parts to a fire extinguisher other than the vessel itself, such as the pressure gauge, handle, hose, nozzle, down pipe, etc. If, for example, a pressure gauge was faulty only a trained engineer could tell this with the equipment they carry. If ever faced with a fire, you need some assurances your extinguishers will work. There is a legal requirement for all employers to inspect, maintain, and test all portable fire extinguishers in the workplace and we recommend that this is carried out in accordance with OSHA Requirements, NFPA 10; Standard For Portable Fire Extinguishers.
